The story so far

In the beginning there was a question. And then a not-so-traditional 9 months retreat midwifed something deeper and larger. Eventually I am trying to share it with others ie. on this website, and call it Unfolding Cards. This is the opening of that website and the beginning of the new Unfolding Cards Story......

The approach, its design and its unfolding has has been a collaborative project involving perhaps 100 people on four continents over a period of nine years (as of 2008, that is!). Some were mentors, some participants, some pioneers, some practitioners, and all were contributors.

Many of the basic ideas come from the ancient divination tools: Tarot, I Ching and Runes, and the Wisdom of the East. To this should also be added the work on group dynamics done in many places, and the special contributions of many friends and colleagues. The list could go on and on, but the reality is, Unfolding Cards is a co-created global Product.

If I have a vision for Unfolding Cards, it is that it joins Movable types (Gutenberg), World Café, Peer Spirit, Flowgame, Open Space Technology, Wikipedia and others - that I and others have been a student of - and become - quoting once again ;-) the founder of Open Space Harrison Owen - rather like accounting: something we all do because it works, and because it is useful.

My concern is that we do it well. To this end I have created the Associate Community, as an invitation to join the process and unfold it further.

So use this website and the community as seems fitting, and please join me in what has been, and will continue to be, a marvelous co-creative adventure.

Of course, there is one small responsibility that accompanies this invitation. Please share what you discover and we will all be the richer.
